As per Football Whispers, Rangers’ most likely next signing is Aston Villa striker Ross McCormack.
The Gers brought in 11 players during the summer transfer window, but haven’t been able to perform up to the expected standards, with woeful performances against Partick Thistle and Celtic in their last 2 league games underlining many shortcomings.
More recruitment are expected in January, and it’s only normal for a player like McCormack to be linked, even though the chances are really low.
The former Leeds striker will most likely leave Villa Park before January, with A-League side Melbourne City keen on the veteran goalscorer and hoping to land him on loan until January.
The Scotland international linked up with Villa from Fulham for £12million last year, but has struggled to make any impact, with one of the reasons being his inability to continue the campaign after he had cysts removed from his mouth.
Rangers could do with McCormack’s experience, though, with his 120 Championship strikes for the likes of Cardiff City and Leeds United testament to his quality.
However, his £45,000-a-week wages would prove to be a huge stumbling block for the Gers, and it doesn’t seem like they really have a chance.
