Leeds United defender Conor Shaughnessy has signed a new four year contract with the club.
The 21-year-old Shaughnessy broke into the Whites first team last season and after managing to impress, he earned himself a new deal which will see him remain at the club until at least 2021.
Leeds confirmed that the player signed a new contract on their website and wrote, “United are delighted to announce that Conor Shaughnessy has committed his long-term future to the club after penning a new four year contract.”
Shaughnessy is not the only Leeds player to have been rewarded with a new deal this year with Ronaldo Vieira, Gaetano Berardi, Liam Cooper, Eunan O’ Kane, Stuart Dallas and Kalvin Phillips also penning new contracts.
Though Shaughnessy was initially viewed as a central midfielder, the Whites have been utilizing him as a centre-half and he is a player whom the Whites fans can look forward to star in the future.
