According to Jonne Lindblom, the agent of Rangers summer arrival Alfredo Morelos, Celtic’s defence isn’t as strong as it used to be this season, and he’s backing his player to hurt the Hoops when they visit Ibrox on Saturday.
Morelos has lit up the Premiership since arriving from Finland months ago, and currently sits atop the goalscoring charts with 6 goals.
The 21-year-old Colombian has been responsible for more than half of Rangers’ league goals thus far, and remains their number 1 goalscoring threat.
Morelos will be looking to add to his tally against Celtic, and his agent believes he is the go-to guy for the big games.
His agent told Daily Record ahead of the Old Firm derby: “It will be really interesting to see how he does in that match.
“I don’t think Celtic are that good defensively this season so hopefully he will score
“He is the kind of player who thrives on the big games. The only worry is you can see that he can get overly excited at times.
“Hopefully the Celtic players won’t target him that much because he can lose his head sometimes.”
Celtic haven’t had their best men available at the back this term, with centre-back Dedryck Boyata only tasting action for the first during Wednesday’s clash against Dundee, and is set to play at Ibrox.
How manager Brendan Rodgers set up his defence, following a summer transfer window that saw no new defensive addition added, against Rangers remains to be seen.
But he sure would be weary of the threat Morelos poses, and would hope his men successfully prevent him from hurting his side.
