Tottenham boss Pochettino makes encouraging admission about Dele Alli

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has claimed that Dele Alli is back in form after the midfielder scored a goal on Tuesday to help his club defeat Barnsley 1-0 in the Carabao Cup third round

Alli has been disappointing during the first few games of the season and Pochettino opted to start him to allow him to regain confidence.

After his heroics, Alli will be expected to be a key part of the Spurs team this season and Pochettino revealed that he thinks that the player is back on form.

He said, “For me, Dele Alli is a top player. He is a key player for us. I think he helps us by scoring today. I am so happy with him. It’s true that everyone can do better but I am happy.

“It is a period that he needs to find his balance but I am so happy, his performance was good. He tried and scored and that is fantastic.”

Tottenham have been poor at Wembley, which is their home ground for this season and they will hope that this victory will give them the confidence to continue winning at the ground.
