Paul Merson has predicted that Tottenham will record a comfortable victory when they take on Swansea at Wembley Stadium this weekend.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be looking to record their third straight win in all competitions this weekend and continue their good run of form following their victory over Everton in the League last time around as well as their triumph over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Wednesday.
After a disappointing August, Harry Kane also seems to have hit top form for the Lillywhites and has scored four goals in his last two appearances. He could be a problem for the Swansea defence to contain if he does have a good day.
Merson has now predicted a comfortable victory for the North London side and wrote in his column for Sky Sports, “I watched Swansea win at Palace and they weren’t very good, then they lost at home to Newcastle and they weren’t very good, so I don’t see how they will live with Tottenham, who will be buzzing after their midweek win against Borussia Dortmund.
“They looked a bit nervous against Burnley and the longer the game went on you thought Burnley could score. But they went to Everton and ripped them apart – that could have been any score. I don’t see too many teams doing that at Goodison Park. I think they win this comfortably.”
