As per the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds United had doubts over bringing Hamburg striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga to Elland Road on a season-long loan until director of football Victor Orta met him.
The German forward has had issues with his parent club, with a belief that his attitude doesn’t sit down well with the club’s hierarchy, who were keen on letting him go.
The Whites didn’t want to bring such player on board, regardless of his talents.
However, extensive talks were held and a move was agreed in the end, after it emerged Lasogga was genuinely interested.
While it’s too early to pop the champagne corks on his dream start to life in Leeds colour having scored twice and assisted twice in as many games, it cant be denied that Lasogga looks very promising, and could prove to be that perfect Chris Wood replacement in the end.
It also seems the German would be a problem to opposition defenders rather than to those managing him as earlier feared.
The 25-year-old has also presented evidence that he could overcome the goalscoring troubles that blighted his career last season, after he could only manage 2 goals in 22 games for Hamburg.
