West Ham defender Jose Fonte has insisted that his club’s under fire boss Slaven Bilic is a great manager.
Many fans of the East London club have called for Bilic to be sacked after the team lost their opening three Premier League games and conceded ten goals in the process.
The Hammers did however show improvement in their game and claimed a much needed three points as they defeated Huddersfield 2-0 on Monday through goals from Pedro Obiang and Andre Ayew.
The victory will certainly help in calming the nerves of Bilic, however he will still be under pressure and these are certainly more improvements that the Hammers need to make.
Fonte has now insisted that Bilic is a great manager and said, “He’s a passionate manager and he’s a great manager. He deserved this because he has been under a lot of pressure of course as we all know.
“This is the business that we are in but I think it was important for him and it was important to show our attitude and to show we are always with our manager.
“I am pleased for today because it is his birthday as well so we gave him what he wanted and now hopefully we can kick on.”
