According to reports, Tottenham are hoping that Erik Lamela will return to action in October.
The Argentina international suffered a serious injury to both hips last season which has kept him out of action for 11 months. Due to the seriousness of his injury, there were even some reports claiming that Lamela may have to end his career.
After the 25-year-old was not included in Tottenham’s Champions League squad, there was speculation that Spurs could be preparing to part ways with him.
The North London clubs boss Mauricio Pochettino has now cleared up all speculation and claimed that the player will return to training in October as he aims to start playing regular football again.
Pochettino said, “We are happy with Erik’s rehab. We expect in early October he will join the team and start the possibility to train with the team.
“Then we can decide and assess every day when it is possible for him to be available. But I think we are happy. We try to translate to our fans that Erik is in a very good mood. He is happy, he is doing all the things to try to be fit as soon as possible.”
