According to reports, Tottenham are expecting Erik Lamela to be back in action before the end of the year. The Argentina international has not played for the club for 11 months following injuries to both hips.
He has undergone rehabilitation in Rome as well as at Spurs training base and he was left out of the North London clubs Champions League squad, prompting speculation that he could be set to be out for a long more time or even be sold.
Though he will not feature in the group stages of Europe’s Premier club competition, Lamela could possibly feature in the knockout rounds as clubs are allowed to make three changes to their squads by February 1.
Spurs are confident that Lamela will make a full recovery. The player will also be itching to get back into action especially considering that next year is a World Cup year and he will be keen to be part of the Argentina national team’s plans.
