According to reports, Tottenham misfit Vincent Janssen rejected the chance to join Stoke City this summer and this irked manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Janssen failed to hit the ground running during his first season with the North London club last season after scoring just 6 goals from 35 games in all competitions.
He is also set to slip further down the pecking order at the club this season following the arrival of Fernando Llorente from Swansea. A report from the Mirror claimed that Brighton, West Bromwich Albion also made bids to sign the Dutch international.
The report added that that Spurs Chairman Daniel Levy informed Janssen that he would be frozen out of the club should he not leave, however the striker rejected this as he did not wish to leave a top club.
The striker will now face a difficult four months which will likely be spent on the bench and his value will diminish.
