Former Leeds United man on the verge of League One move

According to reliable Journalist Phil Hay, Leeds United flop Toumani Diagouraga is on the verge of joining League One outfit Scunthorpe United.

Diagouraga cancelled his contract with the Yorkshire giants by mutual consent at the end of last month even though he had been contracted with the side till next summer.

He has since been training with Scunthorpe with a view to winning a contract with the team.

The Frenchman joined the Whites from Brentford in January 2016 and was a key member of the team under Steve Evans. However, he was frozen out of the clubs first team plans under Garry Monk last season.

After not receiving many opportunities at Elland Road last season, he ended up joining Ispwich Town on loan for the second half of the season.

He had been hoping that Thomas Christiansen would give him opportunities with Leeds this term, however that was not to be the case as he was not even presented with a squad number.
