“Best football player in the world”: Twitter hails Tottenham star after impact in WCQ

Eriksen

Denmark came within touching distance of a playoff spot in Group E of the UEFA World Cup qualifying stage on Monday, as a 4-1 victory over Armenia ensured they moved level on points with 2nd placed Montenegro.

Tottenham star Christian Eriksen was a huge part of it all, assisting and scoring apiece to follow up with the hat-trick of assists and 1 goal he contributed last Friday during the 4-nil win over Poland.

With 2 games left before the qualifiers are wrapped up, the Danish Dynamite must defeat Montenegro and Romania next month to have a chance of at least making the playoffs.

Given Eriksen’s red-hot form, it does appear they do have a big chance of making it to Russia 2018.

The 25-year-old Spurs midfielder now has 6 goals in 8 qualifiers so far, taking his tally to 16 goals in 71 appearances for Denmark.

The performances of the former Ajax playmaker earned plaudits from fans on social medial network Twitter, and LilyWhites faithful would hope he brings such terrific form to weekend’s away league clash against Everton and at next week’s Champions League group stage opener against Borussia Dortmund.

Here are some of the reactions Eriksen’s 5-star outing triggered.
