Manchester United man makes bold prediction about Tottenham star

Harry Kane

Phil Jones has revealed that he feels that Tottenham star Harry Kane can go on to surpass Wayne Rooney’s record as the all-time England national team top goal scorer.

Kane struck twice for the Three Lions during their 4-0 win over Malta last week which saw him take his tally for his country to 10 from 20 games.

It also means that he has reached double figures quicker than Rooney did.  The 31-year-old Rooney, who announced his retirement from international football recently, remains England’s all time record goal scorer with 53 goals.

Jones has now stated his belief that the 24-year-old has what it takes to overhaul the record of his former Manchester United team-mate and said, “Harry will put Wayne’s record under threat without a shadow of a doubt.

“He has all the ability in the world to compete at the level Wayne put on the board. If he stays fit and keeps performing for his club, he will score many more goals for his country.

“Harry is a tremendous talent. He is a gifted player, scores goals with both feet and with his head. He has great movement and is strong.”

There is certainly a high chance that Kane could go on to break Rooney’s, record especially considering that he is young and is bound to get better as he reaches the peak of his career.
