Manager makes interesting revelation about ambitious Harry Kane

Harry Kane

England manager Gareth Southgate has revealed that Harry Kane measures his goal scoring prowess against the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Messi and Ronaldo are two of the best footballers of this generation and have had a stronghold over the Ballon d’ Or award for the past decade.

Tottenham star Kane has been the top goal scorer in the Premier League for the past two consecutive seasons and could be one of the candidates to break Ronaldo and Messi’s stronghold over the Ballon d’Or in the future.

Kane has also done well for the England national team and after scoring a brace in his country’s 4-0 win over Malta on Friday, which took his tally to 10 goals from 20 games.

Whilst talking about Kane, Southgate has hailed him by saying, “He’s in top form, but he’s also got the mentality to want to be the best. He knows where he’s sitting. I asked him how many goals in how many games and he knew.

“He also knew how many Ronaldo had at this point, how many Messi had at this point and everybody else. He’s driven to be one of the world’s best and why can’t that happen moving forward?”
