Paul Merson has said that Tottenham will crush Arsenal and could end their Wembley woes soon if they play against the Gunners.

Last season marked the first time at Spurs who finished second in the League finished ahead of their London rivals in the Premier League. The Lillywhites are now on paper also arguably a better and more composed side than the Gunners.

Arsenal are currently in 16th place on the League standings, with just 3 points from 3 points and it will be interesting to see if they can re-establish themselves as giants in English football after finishing in a disappointing fifth position last season.

Merson, like many Arsenal fans, appears to also be frustrated with Arsene Wenger, with the Frenchman widely criticized as the club have failed to win the Premier League since 2004.

Merson has now blasted Arsenal stated in his column in the Daily Star, “I bet Tottenham can’t wait to play Arsenal. I bet they wish they could play that game tomorrow, because it would stop all the Wembley curse stories once and for all.”

He added about the Gunners manager, “I think the players have lost all respect for Wenger. But I think the fans are losing all respect as well. They are playing for Arsenal and they are turning it into a mockery. They are embarrassing the football club.

“It’s becoming one of football’s also-rans because they are a million miles from winning the league and that’s pathetic. I’m disgusted. It’s just an embarrassment from top to bottom. It frustrates me. And it will get worse too.”
