Match Preview
Ukraine is currently fourth in Group I with 11 points the same amount of points as Turkey but just behind on goal differential. The Eastern European side has a solid squad with many players who play domestically but the more intriguing players on the roster play in Germany with players like Yevhen Konoplyanka and Andriy Yarmolenko.
Borussia Dortmund’s Andriy Yarmolenko will be one of the more interesting players to watch as he has scored three goals in the competition so far. The home-field advantage could be the deciding factor that breaks the deadlock between these two teams but it will still be a challenging task for Ukraine.
Turkey also has 11 points currently sitting in third place, two points behind Croatia and Iceland in first and second place. While the Eurasian side does have some experienced players like Arda Turan, Nuri Sahin, Selcuk Inan and Burak Yilmaz some of the more interesting players on the squad are the younger ones.
Some of these players include Hakan Calhanoglu, Enes Unal and Emre Mor. This Turkish side does have plenty of depth and it will be interesting to see what starting 11 manager Mircea Lucescu decides to go with. The last time these two teams played each other the result was a thrilling 2-2 draw in Turkey and hopefully, this game could bring a similar level of excitement.
