Popular journalist Mina Rzouki has claimed that Antonio Conte could be the reason as to why a number of players rejected the chance to join the Blues this summer.
The defending Premier League Champions underwent a rather frustrating transfer window after missing out on a number of their top targets.
Ross Barkley, Fernando Llorente, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Romelu Lukaku all ended up not joining Chelsea despite the interest. The Blues will now be required to make do with what they have as they try to defend their Premier League crown and challenge for silverware.
Rzouki has now stated his belief that the attitude and atmosphere at the club created by Conte could be a reason as to why players rejected the chance to join the club.
“With players rejecting him, I do think there are individual reasons,” Rzouki told BBC Radio Five Live.
“I do think it’s bad luck but they are also rejecting a club that looks like it has a bad atmosphere at the moment.
“If the coach looks to be furious and everyone’s wondering whether he’s in our out of the door, it’s not going to create a great dressing room harmony.”
