Adrian Popa and Bogdan Stancu have been some of the more standout players on the team with two goals each from the first six games. Tricolorii defeated Armenia 5-0 away from home the first time the two teams met in these qualifiers and should do the same in this match.

Armenia also has six points but is currently fifth in Group E with a goal differential of negative seven as opposed to a goal differential of 0 by Romania. Both of Armenia’s wins have come at home, beating Kazakhstan 2-0 and getting a shocking 3-2 win against Montenegro. The Eurasian side does not have many notable players but will count with Manchester United’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan to lead the attack and create the scoring opportunities.
