Rangers director to play crucial role in the last days of the transfer window

Rangers have been one of the most active clubs in the transfer market this summer, as manager Pedro Caixinha has already landed 10 new signings.

The Ibrox outfit will be putting finishing touches to their transfer plans in the next few days, and with the Portuguese manager also joining the players in taking time off during the international break, new Director of Football Mark Allen has been left in charge of the remaining business.

Rangers are expected to welcome even more additions to the squad this term as they attempt to challenge Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title.

Following Rangers’ 3-1 victory over Ross County and ahead of wrapping up business towards transfer deadline day, Caixinha said: “Mark will be in charge of it.

“I will go to a university class in Portugal this week. I will be in contact with Mark. We know what we want. We are working on what we want and we hope to get it.

“I’m pleased with the work of the boys and the result. They will now have four days off, time to recover and plenty of time to prepare for the next match.”

Rangers are 5th on the Premiership table heading into the international break, with 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss handing them 7 points.

Summer arrivals Alfredo Morelos and Eduardo Herrera helped the Gers to the win over Ross County, with the former taking his season tally to 3 goals following a brace.

The Ibrox outfit would hope the other summer arrivals and the ones to be signed also make huge impacts on the club’s campaign, as a lot is expected of the new squad Caixinha is assembling.
