Journalist Jason Burt has revealed that he feels that sacking Slaven Bilic this early on in the season would be difficult.
Bilic has come under strong criticism following West Ham’s poor start to the season as the Hammers have failed to win any of their first three matches of this season and have also not as yet registered a point.
The Hammers board are now set to review Bilic’s position and decide whether to retain him as manager or not. Burt, however believes that if the club opts to part ways with the Croatian, it would be a difficult decision.
Burt said of the current situation at the club, “I think they’re going to have a discussion with the manager this week, possibly as early as Monday. They do have a Monday debrief at West Ham anyway, but I think it’s going to take on a new dimension going into the international break.
“It seems crazy, in some ways, three games into the season after letting him bring in the players he wants, and I think it would be harsh. But the concern is there from the board.”
Bilic was also subjected to a lot of criticism last season as the Hammers went on to finish the season in a disappointing 11th position.
