Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas has claimed that he feels that Chris Wood will be able to score 12 goals during the current campaign for Burnley.
When asked if Wood would be able to succeed this season, Sky Sports pundit Nicholas responded saying, “I do, yes. I think he will score goals the way they play. I really do. You are talking league goals, I think he could get a dozen. I think that would be a very, very good return.
Wood joined Burnley this summer from Leeds. The New Zealand international was the top scorer in the Championship last season with 27 goals and had previously indicated his desire to play in the Premiership.
Burnley are reported to have paid the Yorkshire giants £15 million for the services of the 25-year-old Wood and certainly managed to make a good impression by scoring in his debut during a 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur.
Due to his performances for Leeds United, Wood arguably deserved a move to the Premiership and he is now at a stage of his career, where he should be playing in the top flight.
