Leeds United reportedly plotting a move for Rob Green’s replacement

According to reports, Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Andy Lonergan is a target of Leeds United.

The Whites may need a new goalkeeper soon given that Rob Green has been linked with Premier League club Huddersfield Town.

Though he served as first choice goalkeeper for the Whites last season, Green is currently the club’s second choice behind German Felix Wiedwald.

The 37-year-old Green may be tempted by a move to the Terriers as it will allow him to have one last crack at the Premier League.

Should Lonergan join the Yorkshire club, he will be rejoining a club that he left in 2012. He will also likely serve as backup to Wiedwald. As Lonergan has plenty of experience under his belt, he is a good keeper to have as cover.

However Thomas Christiansen’s side may have to compete with Hull City for the services of the 33-year-old. We will see next week whether these moves will end up materializing or not.
