Everton boss Ronald Koeman has revealed that he feels that goalkeeper Jordan Pickford will go on and become one of the best shot stopper in football.
The 23-year-old became the most expensive English goalkeeper in the Premiership this summer after moving from Sunderland to the Toffees for £30 million.
Pickford has started off his career at Goodison Park on a good note. During his Premier League debut against Stoke, he saved a wonderful effort from Xherdan Shaqiri which earned his side all three points.
He also saved a penalty during his club’s Europa League encounter against Hadjuk Split this week and the Toffees went on to win the tie 3-1 on aggregate and will now play in the Europa League group stage.
Pickford was rewarded for his good performances with a place in the England national team for upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Malta and Slovakia and some have predicted that he could eventually usurp Joe Hart as the Three Lions first choice.
Koeman is now full of praise for the keeper and said, “That was the reason we paid that money for him. We think he will be the best in the future and he is on a good way.”
