Tottenham youngster Kyle Walker-Peters has been rewarded with a new contract as a result of his good performances.
Following the injury to Kieran Trippier, the youngster was required to start the North London club’s opening match of the season against Newcastle which they went on to win 2-0.
Many would have been sceptical about Walker-Peters ahead of the game as he lacked first team experience.
However the England under 20 international, who helped the Young Lions win the under 20 World Cup in South Korea this summer, defied expectations as he went on to be named man of the match on the day.
The new contract will see Walker-Peters remain at Mauricio Pochettino’s club until 2020. He is certainly delighted to have signed the new contract and wrote on Twitter, “Buzzing to have signed a new deal with Spurs. Can’t wait to see what the future holds. See you all soon.”
The new contract to Walker-Peters was definitely a good decision by Spurs.
