Former Tottenham favourite set for a new adventure

Former Tottenham fan favourite Dimitar Berbatov has joined Indian Super League side Kerala Blasters.

During his heyday, Berbatov was one of the most respected attackers in the Premier League and left Spurs in 2008 to join Manchester United in a deal worth £30 million.

The tension that was created between United and Spurs over the transfer of the Bulgarian is said to still affect the relations between the two clubs’ today. The 36-year-old Berbatov has been a free agent since leaving Greek side PAOK in June 2016.

At his new club, Berbatov will be linking up with former Red Devils team-mate Wes Brown, who joined the club last week as well as manager Rene Meulensteen, having worked with him while on the books of United as well as Fulham.

The move will be a good opportunity for Berbatov to experiment with a new challenge and pocket some money as he nears the end of his playing career.
