Leeds United reportedly favourites to sign prolific striker

Aston Villa striker Ross McCormack is being tipped to return to Leeds United. The 31-year-old McCormack is surplus to requirements with the Villains who are looking to offload him before the end of the summer transfer window.

McCormack spent four successful years at Elland Road between 2010-2014 and popular bookmakers Ladbrokes have stated that the odds of him linking up with his former club stand at 2/1.

The Scotland international only arrived at Villa Park last summer from Fulham for £12 million. After a fallout with manager Steve Bruce, he spent the second half of the season on loan with Nottingham Forest.

Bruce recently confirmed that McCormack would be offloaded by saying, “I’ve opened the door in pre-season for Ross but he hasn’t done enough to warrant a place in the side. There’s others above him in the side right now.”

With Chris Wood’s future currently the subject of speculation, Leeds may need a new forward.
