Valencia defender Joao Cancelo has reportedly snubbed Chelsea and Tottenham and opted to join Inter Milan on loan instead.
Geoffrey Kondogbia is set to move in the opposite direction and this probably worked in Inter’s favor.
This will definitely come as bad news for Chelsea and Spurs, who are both short of options on the right side of defence.
Currently the defending Premier League defending Champions only have Victor Moses as a natural right back. They can utilize Cesar Azpilicueta there, though he is more effective playing in central defence.
Spurs are also short of options on the right side of defence and Kieran Trippier and young Kyle Walker-Peters are currently their only options.
Though Walker-Peters is highly rated and played well on his Premier League debut against Newcastle last weekend, he lacks experience at the highest level so it will be good if the North London club manage to bring in a right back before transfer deadline day.
