Rangers have offered to increase the wages of goalkeeper, Wes Foderingham, in an effort to keep Nottingham Forest boss Mark Warburton from usurping the player.
According to The Scottish Sun, Rangers are trying to retain Foderingham for a longer span.
Foderingham, 26, has had a great run for the past two seasons with Rangers and he had only signed a fresh contract in 2016 that will extend until 2019.
Notwithstanding the contract term, Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha is keen on making the former Swindon goal keeper a permanent fixture at Ibrox amid interest from Forest.
Foderingham, who has had 97 appearances for Ibrox, since his move from Swindon, is a hot favorite at the club and is supposedly content with his stay in Glasgow.
The pay rise for Foderingham is Caixinha’s way to ensure the player is not swayed by the interest shown by Forest manager, Mark Warburton.
Further, Nottingham Forest is unlikely to meet with the transfer fee for Foderingham that would convince Rangers to let go of their favorite goalkeeper.
