Everton manager Ronald Koeman has revealed that his club are “open” to signing Chelsea outcast Diego Costa on loan.
The Spanish international Costa is unlikely to ever don the jersey of Chelsea after being informed by manager Antonio Conte that he is surplus to requirements at the club.
Costa has made it clear that he wishes to join Atletico Madrid, though is preferred destination club are barred from making any new signings until January.
The Toffees have added Sandro Ramirez to their ranks; however he is inexperienced and remains untested in the Premier League. The Merseyside club are still looking to add a left sided striker to their squad.
When asked about whether he could sign players on loan, Koeman said, “Is that about Costa?!”, “Of course you like to sign players for the future, but if you can get the best one that way, then why not?”
“That’s for six months, the season, two years. It’s difficult ¬because it needs to be a quality player, or a young player who can develop or improve.
“We have the possibility maybe to sign good players, but we don’t play in the Champions League – and that sometimes makes things very difficult.”
