French Champion reportedly join the race for Sounthampton’s target

Southampton will receive a fierce competition for the signing of Atletico Madrid’s striker Luciano Vietto.

According to talkSPORT, French champions Monaco have also expressed their interest in a prolific striker and Southampton now face a fight to sign the Argentine.

Vietto is reportedly considered being a replacement for Kyllian Mbappe, who is probably about to leave for Paris Saint Germain.

Vietto is free to leave Vicente Calderon after the management of the club had stated that he is not in the first plans of Diego Simeone and it will be interesting to see where he ends up.

The 23-year-old striker started his professional career at a Racing Club in his homeland back in 2011.

In 2014 he landed in Europe at El Madrigal and signed for Villarreal.

After 32 games during that season, and 12 goals, and Vietto attracted the attention of many big European clubs. Atletico Madrid was his next destination, and he only made 19 appearances for the club from the capital of Spain.

During the most recent campaign, Vietto was a member of Sevilla, where he scored 6 goals in 21 match.
