Everton can reportedly sign like-for-like Lukaku replacement in 52-goals-in-89-games striker

Costa

Everton manager Ronald Koeman has reiterated his wish to have another striker added to his ranks before the transfer window closes, but has admitted landing Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud is not possible.

The Dutchman is keeping his options wide open, and wouldn’t even mind bringing in another Blues’ striker, Chelsea’s out-of-favour cum wantaway Diego Costa.

Replying to a question about signing a new striker permanently or  temporarily in the pre-match conference ahead of Thursday’s Europa League playoff round against Hajduk Split, Koeman inquired: “Is that about Costa?! Of course you like to sign players for the future, but if you can get the best one that way, then why not?

“That’s for six months, the season, two years. I am open to everything to get the best quality players for the team.”

While it looks like a fanciful temporary signing, securing the services of the controversial Brazilian for 6 months could do Everton’s top 6 ambitions a whole lot of good.

Since arriving the Premier League 3 seasons ago, Costa has proven his worth in front of the net, leading Chelsea to 2 titles with 52 goals in 89 league games.

With his experience and most recent form, the Spain international is definitely a class above any striker on the Merseyside.

Considering his frequent antics, however, would it be worth the risk bringing Costa to Goodison Park till winter?
