Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Nuno Espirito Santo has suggested that he will use different combinations of players and strategies this season.
Wolves started the new season on a good note by recording victories over Middlesbrough and Derby County and many bookmakers have predicted that they could be in line for a promotion push this season.
Nuno showed his intent to make the club promotion chasers by signing players such as John Ruddy, Barry Douglas, Roderick Miranda and Ruben Neves for a club record €17.9 million this summer.
Though the club have used the same starting lineups for the first two matches of the season, we are likely to see big changes as time progress with Nuno saying, “It’s important to know who you’re going to compete with and who you’re going to face. You can see by the results, not only our games, but the results we have in these tools.
“Internal competition for a place in the team, but also in the squad. What it tells me is that no matter what choices we make they’ll be made with a lot of thinking.
“We have other options. It’s for us to decide, for us to pick the right one. We prepared this before, we knew what calendar we’d have. So the players are ready to play Saturday/Tuesday because they’ve worked very hard in pre-season with a lot of hours on the pitch.”
