Under pressure Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce has emphasized that he is the right man to lead the club going forward.
After being touted as possible promotion candidates ahead of this season, the Villains have started the new season on a bad note after picking up just one point from their opening three games.
Reading consigned the Villains to a second straight Championship defeat on Tuesday after pulling off a 2-1 win over the Villans at the Madjeski Stadium.
Bruce said following the game, “We obviously signed JT, people have got carried away with the euphoria of it all. We are where we are and I’m convinced I’m the right one to turn it round.
“There’s still obviously a load of work to be done but judge us when all the players are fit and ready and at the minute we are having a tough time.
“We’ve had a tough start – Newcastle had a tough start last year – we have to batton down the hatches, still believe in what we are doing and get that win which will obviously give everyone a lift.”
Following the defeat, Bruce also added that perceptions of the club may have been inflated as a result of them signing Chelsea legend John Terry.
