Newcastle have seen their chances of signing Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere slashed by bookies.
It appears that Wilshere’s time with the Gunners has come to an end after he was left out of the squad that defeated Leicester 4-3 on Friday.
The England international Wilshere was once heralded as the future of English football, however he has seen his progress as a player hampered by injury problems
He will now be desperate to start playing regularly again and has been linked with a move to the Magpies. Popular bookmakers Betfair have however slashed the Magpies odds of signing Wilshere from 7/1 to 3/1.
The 25-year-old Wilshere spent last season on loan with Bournemouth but failed to make the desired impact for Eddie Howe’s men.
He has also been linked with a move to West Ham, who are reportedly the favourites to sign him up at this stage.
