This Wednesday, August 16, 2017 (5:00 PM Pacific) Necaxa will host Mineros de Zacatecas at the Estadio Victoria for a match in the fourth round of matches in the Copa MX. Both teams are finding success in their respective leagues but are having distinctive campaigns in this Copa MX competition.

Necaxa has seven points in the Liga MX and is currently undefeated in the Copa MX with four points. Los Rayos are topping Group 9 of the tournament with a 2-1 away win against Zacatecas and a 1-1 draw against Monarcas Morelia. Ignacio Ambriz counts with a very solid squad and has started some key players in these Copa MX matches like Brayan Beckeles, Miguel Ponce, Daniel Alvarez and Xavier Baez. The Mexican manager should present a respectable starting 11 for this game and should be able to get the favorable result, especially playing at home.

Mineros de Zacatecas only have one loss in the Ascenso MX and are one of the top teams in that league but are struggling in this Copa MX competition with no points from two games. The second-tier side suffered 2-1 losses against Monarcas Morelia and Necaxa and now needs to get points from this game for any chance at making it to the knockout stages.

Manager Efrain Flores does not have many notable players on his squad, perhaps the most dangerous is the experienced striker Roberto Nurse, who has been serving as the club captain for these Copa MX games and has a goal so far. Necaxa is the clear favorite heading into this game but the game could still prove to be an intriguing encounter.
