As per the Daily Mail, Tottenham are willing to move on from their interest in Everton wantaway midfielder Ross Barkley, as they would rather prefer to spend his £50million asking price on Celta Vigo midfielder Pape Cheikh Diop and Ajax defender Davinson Sanchez.

The latter is rated £35million, while Spurs will negotiate with Celta in order to pay below the £25million buyout clause of the former.

Everton have said they would rather have Barkley, who has submitted a transfer request remain at Goodison Park than let him go on the cheap, even on transfer deadline day, and Spurs feel he’s overpriced.

Diop, 20, is a very promising box-to-box midfielder, and he fits perfectly into the playing pattern Tottenham deploy as his style is akin to Dele Alli’s.

The north Londoners believe they can secure his services for £15million, though it seems a move to Lyon is the preference of the Senegalese-born Spain youth international.

Sanchez, 21, was a success story with Ajax last term in his maiden season in Europe, and has claimed he is ready to move to the Premier League.

Tottenham are reportedly inches away from sealing a move for the Colombian centre cum right-back, and he could make an arrival this coming week.

Landing the duo is definitely a better bargain than having to spend that much on Barkley, and while it could take a while before they hit the ground running in the EPL, Diop and Sanchez both have the potentials to become world beaters once they click.
