Tottenham’s Chairman Levy reportedly in Amsterdam to seal move for £35million-rated man

As per the Mirror, Tottenham are hours away from securing a deal for the services of Ajax defender Davinson Sanchez, with chairman Daniel Levy in Amsterdam to negotiate with the Eredivisie giants over a move for the £35million-rated Colombia international.

Sanchez, 21, was a key and integral part of the Ajax side that reached the Europa League final last season and also missed out on the league title by a point.

If negotiations become successful, the Barcelona-target could become Spurs’ first summer signing after days of zero activity in the market by the north Londoners.

Sanchez doubles as a right and centre-back, and only just arrived Ajax last summer after having won the Copa Libertadores with Nacional.

His performances, both at the back and going forward for the Dutch side earned him the Ajax Player of the Year award, and he definitely would strengthen an already strong Spurs backline if signed.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino recently claimed he only wants to sign players capable of challenging his starting XI, and it seems one has already been found in the Colombian youngster.

Kieran Trippier particularly would have to watch his back as Sanchez is more than ready to walk straight into Pochettino’s XI if signed.
