This Saturday, August 12, 2017 (7:00 AM Pacific) Millwall will host Bolton at The Den for a game in the second matchday of the Championship. Both teams are newly promoted sides that are making the jump from League One back to the Championship and both teams should give a tremendous fight for the three points from this game.
Millwall received a 1-0 loss against Nottingham Forest away from home in the first matchday of the Championship but are coming off a 2-0 win at The Den against Stevenage in the EFL Cup. Former Wimbledon forward Tom Elliott scored a brace against Stevenage in the EFL Cup and came on as a substitute in the game against Nottingham Forest.
Due to his solid performance against Stevenage, manager Neil Harris may consider starting Elliott in this game. Millwall has a solid squad and the home support at The Den could be the deciding factor in this game and in a few games this season.
Bolton is also coming off a loss in the first matchday of the new season, falling 3-2 against Leeds United at home. The Trotters also got past the first round of the EFL Cup with a 2-1 away win against Crewe Alexandra. Manager Phil Parkinson does count with a very potent team, especially in attack with players like Adam Armstrong and Adam Le Fondre, who both scored in this past week.
Bolton does have the much better squad with players like the goal scorers mentioned before and the likes of Josh Cullen and Josh Vela. The game should be a very contested duel and offer one of the more enticing matches in the Championship this week.
