Match Preview
Brentford is coming off a disappointing 1-0 loss against newly promoted Sheffield United in the first matchday of the Championship. Some of the offseason signings like Henrik Dalsgaard, Neal Maupay and Ollie Watkins did feature in the game but did not make much of an impact.
Maupay and Watkins did only get a few minutes off the bench and it will be interesting to see if either of them gets the start in this game. Brentford should be able to come away with some points from this game, especially playing at Griffin Park but it can prove to be a complicated encounter.
Nottingham Forest had a solid start to its Championship campaign with a 1-0 win against Millwall at home. The Reds followed that up with a 2-1 win against Shrewsbury in the first round of the EFL Cup also at City Ground. Some of the offseason signings did stand out this past week, Barry McKay had the lone goal that sealed the win against Millwall and Jason Cummings scored in the EFL match against Shrewsbury. This game should prove to be a very close and contested encounter between two teams that are not that exciting but do have potential in this league.
