According to the Express, Everton are monitoring the situation of Celtic midfielder and Southampton-target Stuart Armstrong, with West Brom amongst others also keen on the Scottish man.
The Saints are preparing a £3million bid to land the 25-year-old as he is currently in the last year of his deal.
Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers wishes to keep his man, but the club and player are well apart in their negotiations over a new deal.
Everton have kept an eye on Armstrong following his exploits with the local treble-winning Hoops last season, but not much has been negotiated between both parties. However, if his availability will alert them remains unknown.
The attacking midfielder has earned a spot in the PFA Scotland Team of the Year in 3 of the last 4 seasons, with his keen eye for goals a particular highlight of his game.
Last term, Armstrong found the back of the net on 15 occasions in 31 Premiership games, and is seen as one of Celtic’s most valuable assets.
Everton could indeed do with such quality attacking midfielder, but there are doubts as to if he can actually replicate his feats in arguably the most competitive league in the world.
