Wolverhampton boss demands improvement from his side following uninspired performance

Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Nuno Espirito Santo has called on his team to try and do better following their underwhelming 1-0 victory over Yeovil Town in the EFL Cup on Tuesday.

What was also concerning is that the team had to wait 76 minutes before the only goal of the game came from Nouha Dicko.

Nuno said following the EFL Cup win, “I was pleased for some moments, but I think we should do better.

“We were able to rotate and give minutes. The idea was the same. We have to prepare a squad for every situation; they have to be ready for any moment we decide to put them in to play.

“We need a full squad, everybody is important for us. We just have to be ready, this is the team spirit we want to build, that everybody cooperates and competes at the same time to help the team.”

Wolves are targeting promotion this week and though teams do tend to take things a bit easier against minnows in Cup competitions, they should strive to improve upon this performance and use it as a wake up call to realize what may happen if they take things easy.

They next play against promotion hopefuls Derby County this weekend in the Championship in what may be a very difficult game.
