According to reports, West Ham have handed a trail to former jong Ajax striker Ezra Walian.
Walian is currently a free agent after his contract expired at the end of last season. He had a good record from last season and scored 11 goals from 22 appearances for Jong Ajax.
Though he represented Netherlands under-19 in youth international competition, Walian recently rather surprisingly switched his international allegiance to Indonesia.
Should Walian end up impressing the Hammers scouts and earn a contract with the club, he will be unlikely to feature much or at all for the first team next season.
He will likely be used for the club’s under-23 squad and will have to use the opportunity to try and impress and prove that he can one day play in the first team.
The youngster has also been linked with Bolton Wanderers and Hull City, so he will have other options should he fail to convince the Hammers that he is worthy of a contract.
