Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce has confirmed that defender Jordan Amavi is on the verge of leaving the club.
The French international was withdrawn from the Villa squad that was set to play against Colchester in the Carabao Cup after a bid was accepted.
Though no details of the transfer have yet been revealed, it is rumored that Amavi is headed to French club Marseille.
Bruce said, “It looks as if Amavi is off. That looks as if it’s very close. We pulled him off the bus this morning. Bacuna is another one, we have interest from a Championship club so we’ll see what develops.”
Amavi has long been linked with a move away from Villa Park and the club will be revealed that his departure has been delayed.
He had previously undergone a medical with Spanish club Sevilla though the deal collapsed after the player supposedly failed a medial.
