Aston Villa chief reveals whether his side will pursue Premier League attacker

Aston Villa owner Dr Tony Xia has played down reports suggesting that his club could be set to launch a bid for West Ham outcast Robert Snodgrass.

Over recent days the Villains have been linked with a move for Scotland international Snodgrass, who has failed to impress for the Hammers after joining the club in January.

The outspoken Xia however took to Twitter to play down speculation that his club will swoop for the 29-year-old Snodgrass.

When asked by Villa fan Mark Withey if the Snodgrass links was just a ‘rumour’, Xia replied with a straight answer: “Yes.”

Villa are looking to make a few additions to their side this summer as they aim to challenge for promotion this season. They are also looking to offload Tommy Elphick, Gary Gardner and Ross McCormack.

It remains to be seen if Snodgrass will remain at the London Stadium and fight for his place in the team or start a fresh challenge.
