Tottenham reportedly give midfielder go-ahead to negotiate with continental giants

According to Turkish newspaper Aksam, Tottenham have given Trabzonspor the green light to push ahead with talks for the signing of out-of-favour midfielder Moussa Sissoko.

The France international isn’t a big part of manager Mauricio Pochettino’s plans for next term, and despite paying £30million for his signature last summer, the club won’t hesitate to let him leave.

Trabzonspor are interested in a season-long loan move, though Spurs favour a permanent buy. It’s expected that both clubs and players reach an agreement over a move before mid-week.

Sissoko, 27, is said to be keen on joining the Süper Lig giants as he eyes regular first team football ahead of next year’s World Cup.

Having endured a nightmare debut campaign with Tottenham, a switch to a league where there is less media scrutiny could indeed help the career of the former Newcastle man.

A loan move is ideal as Spurs can still decide to recall him if he ever hits the same heights that attracted them to him in the first place.

The switch to Trabzonspor, if sealed, could help Sissoko get his career back on track again, and it’s an opportunity cum chance he can’t afford to blow.
