The start to the Scottish Premiership 2017/18 is set to begin when Celtic host Hearts this Saturday, August 5, 2017 (4:30 AM Pacific) at Celtic Park. In what is expected to be one of the most exciting matches during the first weekend of Scottish football, The Bhoys is highly favored to win this game in what should set them on course toward another title.
Celtic were beyond astonishing last season, not only winning the league title but also finishing with an undefeated record of 34 wins and 4 ties. Moreover, they had 30 more points than second place team Aberdeen and scored 106 goals; 32 more than its nearest competitor.
This Saturday, they host a difficult competitor in Hearts who will attempt to earn at least a point a Celtic Park which would be an enormous accomplishment. Eventhough it is unlikely that the team will replicate their numbers from last season, the men lead by coach Brendan Rodgers has high expectations and will play hard to begin the new campaign with the three points.
Hearts will begin their season against the most difficult opponent, and at the most difficult venue. The team coached by Ian Cathro will have to play the perfect match to at least gain a point, yet nothing is impossible in this game. The Jambos had a large numbers of players transferred away during the off-season, yet they hope that new signings like Kyle Lafferty, Rafal Grzelak, and Michael Smith will be enough to improve upon their 5th place standing from last season.
