Arsenal legend Perry Groves has said that he thinks that Everton have what it takes to finish in the top four during the upcoming season.
Ronald Koeman’s team have been one of the most active in the transfer market thus far this summer, bringing in the likes of Wayne Rooney, Sandro Ramirez, Jordan Pickford, Cuco Martina, Davy Klaassen and Michael Keane.
They are also expected to lure Swansea star Gylfi Sigurdsson before the end of the summer. Though they will be without Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley, who has been strongly linked with Tottenham, the Toffees also have young exciting prospects such as Tom Davies and Ademola Lookman to call upon.
Groves said of the Merseyside club, “I think (the surprise package) is going to be Everton. They improved under Ronald Koeman and they’re a threat to break into the top four.
“They’ve brought in Klaassen, Pickford, Rooney, Sandro, Keane – it’s a complete overhaul to join the likes of exciting young players such as Tom Davies, Lookman and Idrissa Gueye, who was one of the most underrated players last season in midfield – it’s a good team.”
