Tottenham star pledges his loyalty to Spurs amidst plaudits from prospective suitors

Harry Kane

Following Tottenham’s 3-nil loss at the hands of Manchester City in their final International Champions Cup game of the pre-season, Harry Kane briefly weighed in on the comments of Chelsea manager Antonio Contie during a post-match interview.

Conte had earlier claimed he wouldn’t hesitate to sign the England international striker if chanced as he is one of the best in world.

But while clearly flattered by the comments, Kane reasserted his commitment to Spurs.

Replying to Conte’s plaudits in an interview uploaded to Tottenham’s official club website, the hotshot striking sensation said, “Obviously it’s kind words. But I’m focused on my team now and what my manager thinks. I’m out here concentrating on what I need to do, and being fit for the new season.”

Despite missing 8 EPL games last term, the 23-year-old scored 29 goals to emerge the Golden Boot winner for the 2nd time running.

He would now hope to be fit all through the upcoming campaign so as to help Tottenham to a likely first league title since 1961.

Harry Kane is currently Spurs’ highest ever earner in history following an improved contract he signed last season.

While he is expected to remain with the club till 2022 at least, lack of major silverware could see him leave in search of it. For now, though, Kane remains committed to Tottenham.
