Former Liverpool star Danny Murphy has claimed that Tottenham youngster Dele Alli is better than Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho.
Former England international Murphy explained that the fact that Alli scores more makes him better then Coutinho.
Murphy said, “Coutinho scored 14 goals last season and that was his best return. If Liverpool rate him at around £100m, what’s Dele Alli worth? He’s better than Coutinho! Different but better.”
Whatever Murphy thinks though, the Brazilian international Coutinho reportedly remains a target of Spanish giants Barcelona as a replacement for Neymar who has been linked with a world record move to French giants PSG.
The Reds are however adamant that the 25-year-old Coutinho is not for sale and have slapped a £134 million price tag on his signature.
He is also likely to form a crucial part of Jurgen Klopp’s plans for the upcoming season if he stays put as the Reds prepare for a return to the Champions League.
