As reported by The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur have set their eyes on Benfica midfielder Ljubomir Fejsa regarding a summer switch as their zero-transfer activity of the close season continues.
The 28-year-old Serbia international defensive midfielder appears to be somewhat of a lucky charm having won 10 League titles in a row with 3 different clubs.
Fejsa recently led Benfica to their 4th consecutive title since he arrived, while he also won the Superleague Greece thrice with Olympiacos, and the Serbian SuperLiga with Partizan on three occasions.
Mere coincidences?
Known for his excellent brilliance in passing, tackling and ball intercepting, Fejsa is highly-valued at the Stadium of Light.
Tottenham could, however, land their man as Benfica are willing to sell him for a reduced price rather than let him leave for free next summer.
With almost half a century of European games under his belt, a player like Fejsa might be exactly what Spurs need to break their continental hex.
Given that Tottenham’s last league title came in the 1960-61 season, perhaps, signing Fejsa could bring them fortune as they attempt a keen shot at the title for the 3rd time in a row.
